Terms of Service — Hivemind
Last updated 30 July 2026. This site is operated by the AI Agency.
The short version
Hivemind is a free game paid for by ads. There is no account, nothing to buy and nothing to cancel — if you want to stop, close the tab. We try hard to keep it working and to keep it honest, but we offer it as it is, with no promises that it will be available, correct or uninterrupted. The percentages it shows you are part of a game, not research. Using the site means accepting the terms below.
What these terms cover
These terms are the agreement between you and the AI Agency, which operates Hivemind. They cover this website and everything served from it: the daily game, the guide, the question pages, the share cards, and the small API behind them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What we do with data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
No account, and nothing to terminate
Hivemind has no sign-up, no login, no email capture and no paid tier. That removes most of what terms of this kind usually exist to govern: there is no account for you to close and none for us to suspend, no subscription, no refunds, and no balance of anything. Your streak and your last result live in your own browser, so you already hold the only off switch — stop visiting, or clear this site's data, and nothing of yours remains.
We can still decline to serve requests that break the fair-use rules below, but that is a limit on traffic, not on a person: we have no way to identify you and no wish to.
The game is entertainment, not survey research
Hivemind is for fun. No question has a correct answer, your Hive Sync score measures nothing about you, and the verdict at the end is a joke with a number attached.
The percentages shown during a run are a blend: each question starts from a seeded editorial baseline — our own honest estimate — which real answers then progressively outweigh. That is why we label the figure the hive and never a percentage of players. The whole mechanism is documented at /guide#baseline, and the footer under every reveal says which of the two you are looking at.
Do not present any figure from this site as a measurement of public opinion. A question page publishes its live split as data only once fifty answers have been recorded for it, and even then it is a tally of recorded runs of an entertainment game, with the answer count stated beside it. We do not verify that a run came from a person, or that two runs came from two different people. If you quote a number from here, quote it that way.
Using the site fairly
The rules are short, and each one exists for a reason:
- Do not stuff the counters. No scripted, automated or bulk answers, and no attempt to skew a question's split. Those counters are the product; distorting them spoils the game for everyone.
- Do not hammer the servers. Read, link and quote the pages freely — but automated crawling at a rate that degrades the site for others is not on.
- Do not attack the site — no probing for vulnerabilities, no circumventing security or rate limits, no interfering with anyone else's use of it. Found a security problem? Please email us; we would much rather hear it from you.
- Do not misrepresent what you take. Republishing our questions or writing as your own, or dressing our figures up as research findings, is not permitted.
- Do not use the site where doing so would break the law that applies to you.
Content & intellectual property
The questions, the editorial writing on each question page, the design, the artwork and the code are ours or used with permission. You may link to any page, quote a reasonable extract with attribution to Hivemind, and share your own result card anywhere you like — that is what it is for. Wholesale copying of the question bank or the written pages is not permitted.
Nothing on this site is user-generated, and that is structural rather than a policy: there is no text input on any screen, so there is nothing for you to submit, nothing for us to moderate, and no way for one visitor's words to reach another.
Advertising
Ads are what pay for a free game, and they are served by Google AdSense. We do not choose, write, review or endorse the individual ads you see or the businesses behind them, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them. What the ads do with cookies, and how to opt out of personalised ones, is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Availability & changes to the game
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Hivemind at any time and without notice — including the questions in rotation, how scoring works, and the site itself. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something broke. Because your streak is kept only in your browser, a cleared browser or a changed device loses it, and we have no copy to restore it from.
No warranty
Hivemind is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that any percentage, score or verdict it shows is accurate, complete or fit for any purpose you might have in mind.
Some jurisdictions do not allow parts of this exclusion, so parts of it may not apply to you. Nothing here removes a right you hold as a consumer that cannot lawfully be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the AI Agency and the people who work on Hivemind will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or streaks, arising out of your use of — or inability to use — this site, or out of any reliance you place on a figure it shows.
Hivemind is free, and we charge you nothing for it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is therefore limited to the amount you have paid us to use it, which is nothing, or to the smallest sum the applicable law permits where it requires a minimum.
None of this excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page. That date is the one reliable way to tell whether what you are reading is current, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the version published here.
Governing law
This section is deliberately unfinished. The governing law for these terms, and the venue for any dispute under them, have not been settled yet. Rather than name a jurisdiction we have taken no advice on, we are leaving it open until a lawyer has confirmed it, and it will be filled in here when that happens.
In the meantime, nothing in these terms affects the mandatory rights you have under the law of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim before the courts there.
