Password rules are where good intentions meet daily misery. Forced expiry tends to top the list, because it takes a password you finally remembered and turns it into a monthly guessing game that usually ends with a number on the end. The symbol requirement runs close behind, especially when the site refuses to say which symbols it accepts. Then there are the rules that feel like the site is broken rather than careful - a suspiciously low character limit, or a ban on spaces. Whichever you pick, you are really naming the moment you last got locked out.
