What's the worst thing to discover in a hotel room?

- A stale smell
Why this one divides people
Hotel disappointment is ranked by how fixable it is. Cold water is dramatic but usually gets solved by a phone call or a room change. Thin walls cannot be fixed at all, and they turn every night into a lottery decided by strangers you will never see. The bed is a similar trap: you only find out at the moment you most need it to be right. Smell and light sit lower because most people can adapt, though anyone who has been woken at sunrise by an unshaded window will argue hard for the curtains. It is a question about which discomfort you can talk yourself out of.

In the game itself you always see a split, because a seeded baseline stands in until recorded answers outweigh it. That estimate is ours, so it is never published here as crowd data.
