Why this one divides people
Music taste is the one argument nobody ever wins, because it is entirely about who a person already is. The heavy metal and country camps take the most fire, partly because their fans are loud about it and partly because the sound is an acquired taste. Opera gets accused of being admired more than enjoyed, while jazz carries the opposite suspicion of being easier to claim than to like. Electronic dance music divides by generation, loved on a dance floor and mystifying on a commute. Whatever the answer, the real confession is that everyone thinks their own taste is the honest one.
