What's the most annoying way to split a group dinner bill?
There is no correct answer to this one. In Hivemind you are guessing which of these 5 answers most other people picked.
The options
- Even split for all
- Strict itemising
- Rounding up wildly
- Chasing it up later
- One person covers it
Why this one divides people
The bill is where friendship quietly meets arithmetic. Plenty of people find the flat split infuriating, because it turns a salad and tap water into an expensive evening. Plenty of others find the opposite worse: the friend with the receipt held at reading distance, allocating side dishes line by line while the table waits. There is a third camp that objects less to the method than the aftermath, the weeks of polite reminders for an amount too small to chase and too large to forget. Whichever one irritates you probably says more about how you order than how you calculate.

No answers recorded yet. Below 50 the numbers would move too much to mean anything. Play today’s ten and this page fills in.
In the game itself you always see a split, because a seeded baseline stands in until recorded answers outweigh it. That estimate is ours, so it is never published here as crowd data.
